Darkroom Prints
Here’s a bit of a look at prints being made for my exhibition at Photo Access. The intention was to show the photographs as prints: both Silver Gelatine and Platinum prints. Unfortunately Photo Access had to close the gallery due to COVID-19, so the physical exhibition was cancelled. I decided to proceed with an online exhibition in spite of the setback, and the resulting exhibition can be viewed here:
Despite the absence of a physical exhibition, prints are available to purchase, and I thought I’d show a little behind the scenes here on the blog.
The first shot is a quick snap of two prints of Richard in the wash bath. This was at the end of a day printing in the darkroom when the lights are finally back on.
Laying the prints out back at home to see the results and to let them fully dry.
Prints of Krystel, laid out for observation.
A finished silver gelatine print of Krystel.
Final product: Silver gelatine prints of Krystel and Richard.
Finally, below is a selection of Platinum Prints that were made at Gold Street Studios back in November 2019.
